The Mauritius Lychee is a highly popular, commercially variety which producing heavy crops of sweet, tangy and fragrant fruit. The fruit features rough, pink-red skin and juicy, translucent white flesh with a high rate of smaller "chicken tongue" seeds.
Harvest time: May-June.
The mature trees can grow up to 20 to 30 feet tall, but can be kept shorter through annual pruning for easier harvesting.
Care instruction:
Full-sun required
Water daily when the tree is small. Water every other day for medium tree.
Fertilizer: every 3 months with 10-10-10 or 12-8-6. Don't add fertilizer when first planting it in the ground or transplanting to the bigger pots.
Soil: slightly acidic soil, well-drained with good potting soil or organic soil.
