Pineapple Guava is slow growing and is most typically seen as a shrub of 6 feet. The fruit of this plant is egg-sized, juicy, and tropical in flavor. For the flowers, in late spring to early summer, the shrub produces stunning white and crimson flowers. The thick, fleshy petals have a sweet, spicy flavor and can be tossed directly into salads. Ruby Supreme Guava is a fast growing tree. The fruits are extremely sweet and juicy with a highly aromatic flesh. The tree can fruit very early—often within 1 to 3 years of planting. The heaviest harvests typically occur during summer. Mature trees reach roughly 10-15 ft tall, but they respond very well to pruning and can be kept compact.  Needs well-draining soil, as waterlogged conditions can cause root rot. Water deeply, letting the top 2–3 inches of soil dry out between waterings.  Full-sun required. It'sonly cold-hardy down to roughly 28-30°F USDA zone: 9-11.
