Yen's Garden Air-layered Sugar Apple Fruit Tree
Sugar Apple is a sweet, tropical fruit native to Asia and other tropical countries, also known as a sweetsop. It features a bumpy, segmented green rind and creamy, fragrant white flesh that tastes like a blend of vanilla custard, banana, and pineapple, encasing several inedible black seeds. When fully ripe, the skin becomes soft and the fruit easily pulls apart into fleshy, custard-like segments. The flavor is intensely sweet and lacks acidity. Sugar apples thrive in warm, humid, and tropical climates (such as South Florida, the Caribbean, and Southeast Asia). They become dormant during winter time and come back every year. They can also be grown in a big containers. Harvest time: July to late August.
