Achacha Trees

Achacha (Garcinia humilis) is a tropical fruit from Amazon, related to mangosteen. The fruits has tangy, sweet, orange-colored with refreshing taste. The plant is a slow-growing, evergreen tree with glossy leaves, and its fruit is rich in Vitamin C, folate, and antioxidants, making it popular for fresh eating, juices, and sorbets.  If you love mangosteen and can not grow them here in the state, then Achacha is a perfect alternative. Care instruction: Full-sun required Water daily when the tree is small. Water every other day for medium tree. Fertilizer: every 3 months with 10-10-10 or 12-8-6. Don't add fertilizer when first planting it in the ground or transplanting to the bigger pots.  Soil: well-drained with good potting soil or organic soil.
