Description
Pineapple Guava is slow growing and is most typically seen as a shrub of 6 feet. The fruit of this plant is egg-sized, juicy, and tropical in flavor.
For the flowers, in late spring to early summer, the shrub produces stunning white and crimson flowers. The thick, fleshy petals have a sweet, spicy flavor and can be tossed directly into salads.
For the fruit, they are ripening in the fall, the green, egg-sized fruits taste like a blend of pineapple, apple, and mint. They are ripe when they naturally drop to the ground. Simply cut them in half and scoop out the gelatinous, pear-textured pulp with a spoon.
Pineapple Guava is a self-pollinating tree.

Water daily when the tree is small. Water every other day for medium tree.

Fertilizer: every 3 months with 10-10-10 or 12-8-6. Don't add fertilizer when first planting it in the ground or transplanting to the bigger pots.
